What is Greer’s Goo?
Greer’s Goo is a topical cream used for intertrigo. It is most common for baby diaper rashes, but can be used on adults who have dry skin, typically in the winter due to fabric rubbing against the skin. It consists of three ingredients: (1) zinc oxide paste, (2) Nystatin powder, and (3) hydrocortisone powder. These ingredients act as a moisture lock barrier on the skin, while relieving symptoms of a rash.
What are the possible side effects?
Common side effects may include:
- skin irritation
- increased hair growth
- dry skin
- appearance of stretch marks due to dryness or scaling of skin
To prevent resistance and side effects, only use Greer’s Goo until the rash has healed.
How do I use Greer’s Goo?
Wash your hands and the affected area prior to the application of Greer’s Goo. Apply a thick coating directly to the affected skin with every diaper rash change. Only apply up to 4 times a day.
