SubSema stands for sublingual semaglutide. Semaglutide is a medication primarily taken for the management of type 2 diabetes and obesity. Sublingual semaglutide offers a pain free, alternative route to the injectable option.
Is sublingual semaglutide as effective as the injectable formulation?
Injectable semaglutide has been at the front of weight loss news for the last few years. While it has shown great results for weight loss, it has potential barriers that make the search for an alternative administration method popular.
SubSema is a new product with data supporting its use as an alternative to the injectable. Due to this, questions about the efficacy of sublingual semaglutide relative to the injectable formulation have begun to arise.
As of right now, as sublingual semaglutide is a newer product, there is very little data supporting equivalent efficacy claims.
Why sublingual semaglutide?
While there is still research being done in comparing sublingual semaglutide products to the injectable, there is information about their comparison to commercial oral semaglutide.
Preston Pharmacy’s compound SubSema product is made with a SubMagnaTM base that offers 30x more absorption compared to commercial oral semaglutide.
Through patient prescription only, we are offering SubSema at a strength of Semaglutide 3 mg per 1 mL. Each bottle is $300 and contains 30mL and will last for 60 days.
Dosing:
- 0.2 mL once daily for 7 days
- Titrate up to 0.3 mL once daily for 7 days
- Titrate up to 0.4 mL once daily for 7 days
- Titrate up to 0.5 mL once daily thereafter
SubSema is also easy to use: drop solution under tongue and hold for a minimum of 90 seconds before swallowing to allow the product to absorb directly into the bloodstream. Do not eat or drink for 30 minutes after taking the medication. The medication Is best taken at nighttime. Only take a minute or two and incorporate this into your daily routine before bedtime to start your weight loss journey!
